How To Put Music On Your PSP

With the advancement of technology, everything else follows. Unlike before where you have to connect your playstation to a TV in order to play, right now PSPs are widely used all over the world. However, aside from being a portable gaming console, it also has other features that make it quite handy. It also allows the user to store data into its memory stick, and is also capable of videos and music playback.

If you put music in your PSP, you can have a gaming console and a walkman at the same time. However, before you get too excited, there are things that you need to know about. One is that, PSPs with an older firmware version can only playback music saved in MP3 format. Audio formats like WMV or WMA will not work, unless you convert it into MP3, but there is also another option. You can also choose to upgrade your PSP's firmware, allowing playback of WMV and WMA audio files. The downside about upgrading your firmware is that some games may no longer run on your PSP.

With that covered, here's how you put music in your PSP:

1. With a USB cable, connect your PSP to your computer.

2. After connecting the PSP to your computer with the USB capable, navigate through the interface of your PSP first and press the "HOME" button. After doing so, navigate through the interface and find "Settings". From settings you then select the "USB connection" option.

3. After connecting your PSP to your computer, click and open the "My Computer" icon on your desktop or from the start menu. From there, look for the additional drive that your computer detects from your PSP. This process is just like plugging in a flash drive into the USB port and looking for that additional drive.

4. Open the drive that pertains to your PSP and create a new folder. You can rename the folder as "music" or whatever filename you have in mind.

5. Copy or drag the music files from your PC into your PSP and place it in the folder that you have just created. If you have the previous firmware version in your PSP, make sure that the files you're copying are in MP3 format. If they are in other audio formats like WMV or WMA, make sure that you have them converted.

6. After transferring all the music files that you intended to put in your PSP, you can eject your PSP drive from your PC and get out of the USB connection option by pressing on the "O" button on your PSP.

7. If you want to play the music files that you just transferred, go to the music area of your PSP. Select your memory stick and search for the folder that you've created which contains your music files. Then you can play and enjoy your music.

Another thing that you should take note is that all the files that you're storing are placed in your PSP memory stick. Because of this, it would be wise to get a memory stick with a higher storage capacity if you're planning to save a lot of music and game files in your PSP.
